Prithvi Theatre is the first word that comes to mind on thinking of Bollywood or the entertainment industry of India. It is a symbolic place to the film industry and veteran theatre of its generation. It was founded by Shashi Kapoor, the youngest son of Prithviraj Kapoor, along with his wife Jennifer Kendal on 5th November 1978 in the memory of Prithviraj Kapoor in order to encourage the art of acting and related performances in the country.
Prithvi Theatre is the oldest and most popular theatre known to Indians. Since its birth it has given the biggest and most successful artist to the world who when performed at the world s stage brought recognition from all sides of the world. Through its numerous workshops, acting classes, stage shows and other teaching acts, it makes an amateur into an artist. It is the inspiration and motivation to all those budding performers who wishes and desire to make a mark in the Bollywood industry. A visit to Prithvi Theatre is a mind lowing and unique experience.
In short it is a perfect and most adequate blend of cultural and modern theater in India. There is a garden café outside the theatre which serve delicious food on lamp lit tables. It is famous for its North Indian food and Irish coffee.
