Mumbai with Maharashtra Heritage and Hill Stations

This is a comprehensive tour package to Mumbai and the hill stations, religious sites and World Heritage Sites of Maharashtra. Explore Mumbai; enjoy hill safari at Lonavla and Matheran and visit the religious sites of Nasik and Shirdi as well as the world heritage sites-Ajanta and Ellora.

Day 01 : Arrival in Mumbai
Welcoming you at the airport our representative will transfer you to the hotel. Take the room and then get refreshment.  In the evening visit the beaches of Mumbai and feel the romantic spirit of the city. After a lip-smacking dinner stay overnight.

Day 02 : Mumbai
Post breakfast, get ready for a half-day Mumbai city tour. Visit the Gateway of India, Jehangir Art Gallery, Hanging Garden, Bollywood Film city and Prince of Wales Museum, etc.

After lunch visit the Elephanta Caves located in middle of Arabian Sea on the Elephanta Island. You have to embark on a ferry ride to reach the caves. The caves of Elephanta date back to 7th century and the rock cut temples of the cave are dedicated to Lord Shiva.  Then return back to the hotel. In the evening you can go on a shopping spree in Mumbai.

Day 03 : Mumbai-Lonavala
On the 3rd day of Maharashtra heritage tour drive to Lonavala hill station. On arrival take the hotel. Then explore the beauty of the hill station and visit the Karla and Bhaja Caves which house the Buddhist rock cut temples. You can also tour the Kaivalyadhama Yoga Hospital.

Day 04 : Lonavala
Enjoy your full day at Lonavala hill station exploring its beauty. You can also explore the nearby villages.

Day 05 : Lonavala-Matheran
Post breakfast drive to Matheran hill station. On arrival take the hotel and then enjoy the beauty of nature and explore the hill station.

Day 06 : Matheran-Nasik
Have breakfast at the hotel. Then drive to Nasik located on the bank of River Godavari.  On arrival take the accommodation. There are Hind myths related to Nasik.

In the afternoon visit the Panchavati Ghat, Trambkeshwar Hill which houses the one of the Jyotirlingas.  Panchavati is one of the sites of Panchavati. According to Hindu legend, Ravana abducted Sita from Panchavati Van. Explore the Kalaram temple and Ghats of Panchavati.

Day 07 : Nasik-Shirdi
After breakfast drive to Shirdi, one of the holy sites of Hindus. On arrival take the hotel. Then visit the Temple of Sai Baba of Shirdi.

Day 08 : Shirdi-Aurangabad
On the 8th day of Mumbai tour with Maharashtra heritage, drive to Aurangabad, the largest city of the state. On arrival take the hotel.

Aurangabad is gateway to Ajanta and Ellora Caves. Today will visit the Ellora Caves which is located about 30 kms from the city. The caves of Ellora comprises of Buddhist, Hindu and Jain caves which date back to 5th to 7th centuries. Return back to the city hotel. In the evening you can do shopping. After dinner stay overnight.

Day 09 : Aurangabad
After breakfast, drive to Ajanta village which house the World Heritage Site. Ajanta houses the Buddhist rock cut architecture which date back to 2nd century BC.  These caves are called masterpieces of Buddhist art and universal pictorial art. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Day 10 : Aurangabad-Mumbai
Take the flight to Aurangabad and then board your flight back home.
